Who you are:
A motivated individual with the appropriate knowledge and experience to support the Procurement Department per AISC or equivalent Quality Standard such as ISO, and to procure critical components for ConXtech. You will work closely with the Operations and Project Management teams to procure raw materials and engineered products specific to projects, and other commodities ordered for inventory. This position is key to ConXtech’s
growth as we move towards standardizing key procurement processes in the Supply Chain that will allow us to continue to scale. You have:
- 5 – 7 years of experience as a buyer in steel fabrication and manufacturing industries, and/or steel construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering, or equivalent Professional Experience.
- Experience procuring structural steel, mechanical assemblies or similar commodities is a plus.
- Experience procuring shop and field items to support operations and construction.
- Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to describe complex and technical topics clearly, accurately, and appropriately for target audience.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Proficient in using a document control system such as Autodesk Vault or any other equivalent document Control System.
As a Senior Buyer / Planner at ConXtech, you’ll:
- Process purchase orders in compliance with the company policies, procedures, and systems.
- Assist with vendor management for applicable commodities, including but not limited to Vendor Qualification, Pricing Negotiation, Delivery Lead Times, Payment Terms, Quality Management, among others.
- Help with the creation and implementation of Procurement Standards.
- Have a technical understanding of the parts getting procured to effectively communicate requirements to vendors and help identify need for First Article when applicable.
- Develop & Implement Commodity Management Strategies to control/reduce costs and to effectively meet the company’s inventory target levels.
- Follow up on PO delivery dates and ensure delivery requirements are met.
- Track Material Project Budgets and report any variances periodically against estimated costs.
- Periodically help evaluate vendors and track key metrics such as On Time Delivery, Quality, Communication, Pricing, among others.
- Assist with Managing the Material Procurement Process from the advanced material release state through product delivery to customers.
- Perform any additional reasonable tasks consistent with your professional abilities that may be requested by the company.
You’ll be working remotely from home with the occasional onsite meeting as needed at a satellite office or our company headquarters in Pleasanton, CA. There are some restrictions to this opportunity and therefore we are looking for candidates in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, PA, TX, and WA.
