Overview:
GitHub is searching for an experienced Senior Business Manager with a high attention to detail to support the Office of the CRO (OCRO).
The Senior Business Manager is a member of the office of the CRO’s support team. You will partner with the OCRO team to develop and execute planning processes and integration of strategic initiatives across the company. You will routinely brief the CRO and provide project and program management and oversight on special projects such as budgeting and workforce planning. All in all, we are searching for an analytically-minded, fast-paced, and detail-oriented individual to help us operationalize and streamline the business process and coordination of the OCRO.
This role is reporting to the CRO and can work remotely from anywhere in the United States, with the potential to travel up to 25% of the time.
- Partners with the OCRO and Revenue Leadership teams to develop and execute planning processes, such as fiscal planning, quarterly budgets, business reviews, strategic business planning, vendor management, and participation at key business events
- Plans, orchestrates, and executes events for 100+ Revenue team members with significant complexity, such as sales reward trips
- Helps in managing, communicating, and maintaining documentation of the OCRO team's rhythm of business (ROB)
- Trusted advisor, uses knowledge of the leader's goals and approach to ensure team activities are aligned with the leader's objectives. Supports the leader in communicating key goals, priorities, and definitions
- Builds agendas, activities, and content for GitHub’s Revenue Leadership team and OCRO meetings and events. Helps identify potential locations for events domestic and international (e.g., negotiates hotel contracts including lodging and F&B)
- Manage complex budgets that require working with Procurement, Finance, HR, Security, and IT teams to coordinate resources and manage the vendor lifecycle. Collaborate with OCRO regarding resource and workforce management planning
- Provides research and analysis to prepare briefing materials. Manages multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matters expeditiously, and proactively, and follows through on projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures
- Fields inquiries and requests for the OCRO and forward situations and issues to appropriate colleagues for resolution
Performs and/or oversees a wide range of special projects or assignments that are highly sensitive or complex, requiring a high level of independence and initiative in execution and implementation
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in roles requiring skills related to financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, Business Operations, or related fields
- Demonstrable ability in project management, with skills in business planning, budget management, and executing global events
- Demonstrable ability in managing Business Operations with skills in in G-Suite and Microsoft office scheduling tools
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to attend and coordinate events
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven ability to work in an independent manner with minimal oversight, and to work across teams and partner well with people with diverse professional backgrounds
- Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery against commitments, including strong organizational skills, follow-through, and attention to detail
- Experience working with SaaS revenue organizations
- Experience working cross-functionally with remote and distributed teams
- Exceptional documentation and written communication skills
- Understanding of the developer ecosystem and/or GitHub tools

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
