Essential Job Duties
  • Provide self-service Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to inform Port business strategy and operations.
  • Use Power BI to design, build, optimize, and maintain BI solutions to effectively deliver information to internal customers based on collected requirements.
  • Develop innovative BI solutions using structured and unstructured, multi-dimensional data sources.
  • Establish and maintain best-practice standards and procedures for design and development of BI solutions and data visualizations.
  • Provide support to the Port's internal community of Power BI practitioners across a variety of subject matters.
  • Partner with colleagues to lead data governance and stewardship activities.
  • Build additional BI capability through training programs and one-on-one assistance.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the BI team to help determine requirements and data needs to support business unit requirements and partner with data engineering staff as needed to continue to curate existing data.
  • Cultivate a body of knowledge and network of industry experts to discover BI best practices and position the Port as a leading practitioner among peers in this space. Represent the Port as a BI practitioner locally and nationally

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
  • At least five (5) years' experience utilizing BI visualization software (specific experience with Power BI is preferred) or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant experience (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Management/Data Analysis, Statistics, or related field Significant experience with Microsoft Excel is required
  • Must successfully pass and maintain clearance of a comprehensive Criminal History Records Check and a Security Threat Assessment for a PDX Security Badge. (required)

SELECTION PROCESS:
1. A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of February 05, 2024.
2. A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.
