This position focuses on assisting our team with writing Craft Education tutorials, emails, and video instructions. The ideal candidate will be experienced with both technical writing for education and Cricut and sublimation crafting, as well as familiar with the JenniferMaker brand.
The person who is right for this position has experience in crafting, writing, and teaching others.
While perhaps not quite yet an expert, this person does have a solid grasp of design and vector software, communication skills, familiarity with the JenniferMaker blog, courses, and ebooks, as well as a basic understanding of Cricut and sublimation crafting.
This position involves a combination of creativity, attention to detail, and follow-through, and it has high expectations for meeting deadlines. Project management skills and experience are a plus.

Position Details
Status: This is a full-time employee position (not a contractor position).
Hours: 35 - 40 hours/week. Must be available and willing to work weekends and some non-traditional hours as needed.
Special Note: As a JenniferMaker employee, you will not be able to engage in any outside activity that could be construed as a conflict of interest, such as running or working on your own craft blog or crafting/blogging business, or someone else's craft blog or blogging business.
Responsibilities
- Writes 1-2 complete and high-quality tutorials for upcoming projects each week.
- Works closely with designers to write detailed step-by-step instructions for the project from start to finish in simple and easy to understand steps.
- Writes instructional scripts for our videos.
- Helps compose letters about our tutorials and all things JenniferMaker.
- Responds timely to update requests and feedback from the team.
- Incorporates search engine optimized keywords and phrases into blog posts.
- Understands and uses the JenniferMaker products and projects so you can answer questions and support our crafters.
- Effectively communicates with the team and meets with us weekly on Zoom video chats.
- Has the best interest of the JenniferMaker brand in mind.
- Helps us look good to our readers and community.
- Works with minimal supervision.
- Additional duties as required by management.
Things You've Done in the Past
- Minimum of two (2) years technical writing experience.
- Preference may be given to candidates possessing previous craft-specific writing experience.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have successfully completed college level writing or education classes.
- Experience with Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Google Forms, and Facebook.
- Experience with a Cricut cutting machine and Cricut Design Space.
- Knowledge and understanding of Cricut and sublimation crafting.
- Project management skills and experience are a plus.
- Preference may be given to candidates who have experience working with a virtual team.
