- Lead and develop complex financial modeling, particularly predictive loss models, cash flow modeling and stress testing
- Draft and maintain documentation of procedures for developing financial models
- Assemble and develop clean datasets and new analytics that monitor Credit Risk, profitability, and associated variances from expectations
- Collaborate with Lending leaders to analyze effectiveness of underwriting criteria
- Prepare, deliver and/or present methodology and modeling results for senior leadership, committees, and other business units, effectively communicating analytical insights and logical thinking
- Aggregate data from multiple source systems to research and analyze root causes of identified risk trends
- Proactively identify gaps and make modifications to or create new scripts and analytical frameworks to meet changing needs
- Validate data and identify calculation inconsistencies for needed code corrections
- Write and execute SQL/R code proficiently to create and produce monthly and quarterly risk reports
- Maintain and oversee the operating procedures’ library and SQL/R code for developing financial models
- As a subject matter expert, guide and advise business units to review credit analytics, Credit Risk trends and impacts to profitability
- Mentor other BI Analysts on a day-to-day basis
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an analyst role, preferably in the financial services industry
- Experience applying and developing analytical methods, including data mining techniques
- Experience auditing code for bugs
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated effective time management skills and the ability to work independently or in a collaborative team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to express ideas concisely and logically to all levels
- Demonstrated ability to establish credibility and rapport with internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency with a data visualization/dashboarding tool (such as Tableau)
- Expert knowledge of an analytical/quantitative tool (such as Excel, SAS, Python, R)
- Advanced SQL skills and understanding of relational databases
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
