The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.
In partnership with the Associate Relations Practices Manager, acts as a business partner, liaison, and legal compliance resource for the Associate Relations and Human Resources groups and other departments within the organization. Reviews and provides input on employment policies and provides communication and training for Associate Relations and Human Resources on important employment issues. Ensures the highest level of execution on strategic employment initiatives to proactively protect the Company.
Major Areas of Responsibility
- Conducts legal research on a variety of employment matters such as wage and hour laws, minor labor laws, ADA, criminal code, etc, and analyzes the potential effects on the Company’s workforce
- Collaborates with partners and in-house counsel on proposed communication and direction regarding changes to federal, state, and local employment laws
- Mentors Associate Relations and Human Resources business partners on investigations and other employment matters
- Serves as business partner and legal compliance resource to Human Resource divisional groups on administration of Form I-9, E-Verify, and related hiring and immigration matters
- Supports internal and external labor audit activities
- Identifies employment related training needs and opportunities
- Supports TJX policy changes and Code of Conduct policy
- Additional duties as assigned
Who We Are Looking For: You.
- 3+ years direct experience in HR, employment law, immigration law, or with a related government agency is preferred but not required.
- Juris Doctor required
- Enthusiastic self-starter with an eye for detail and excellent organization skills
- Demonstrable ability to communicate legal or sophisticated information to a lay audience
- Able to work independently, or collaboratively across functional areas, as needed
- Able to optimally prioritize and complete multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- High level of integrity and dedication to confidentiality
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite products (including formatting, editing, sorting, basic formulas)
