In June 2021, 160over90 partnered with Obsidianworks, a culture-powered marketing agency co founded by actor and producer, Michael B. Jordan, and Chad Easterling, purpose-built for a more inclusive era of brand storytelling, The agency focuses on cultural connectivity through brand strategy, digital and social impact. Together with 160over90, the agency works with brand and talent partners to identify opportunities, create, and execute innovative and culturally resonant campaigns and activations, and connect with multicultural consumers in diverse communities.
This role will fully support Obsidianworks.
The Role and What You'll Do:
We're looking for a Sr. Art Director who will be responsible for creative concepting and production across a major retail brand. Working alongside a Sr. Copywriter counterpart and reporting into Creative leadership, the Sr. Art Director will be skilled in learning the client's business objectives and accomplishing those through strategically sound creative ideas that put our clients in the epicenter of culture.
You will be highly conceptual, ideating against each brief from platform concepts down to how concepts are brought to life through various executions. You will see through to execution in partnership with your Copywriter counterpart, Production, Account Management, and with close mentorship by your Creative leadership.

  • Help define and execute the brand's role and purpose in retail through the development of award-worthy, industry-leading creative that breaks new ground in the retail environment.
  • Lead the development, presentation, and optimization of creative ideas that bring the brand's partnerships, properties, and platforms to life.
  • Work seamlessly with a Senior Copywriter to function as a cohesive single entity delivering a shared creative vision.
  • Work closely with account strategy team to build insights-led creative territories, approaches, and concepts.
  • Lead presentations to senior level client and/or agency executives and implement feedback to finesse ideas and concepts.
  • Build relationships with key client creative stakeholders.

You Have These:
  • A minimum of 5+ years of agency, client, marketing, or advertising experience.
  • Experience developing creative ideas that build around culturally relevant moments or react to things happening in culture.
  • Ability to think/create on your feet, especially during the ideation and design development phases.
  • Strong understanding of the different marketing platforms and how to take advantage of what they offer.
  • Push creative boundaries by constantly pursuing new concepts and approaches, bringing new ideas to the table.
  • Articulate ideas in concise language, effectively communicating concepts to internal leaders and non-design audiences.
  • Takes a profound interest in the world around you - culture, music, film, sport, art, entertainment.
  • Must be able to work autonomously - taking ownership of your workload and able to juggle several projects at one time.
  • Takes an interest in your counterpart's profession with the ability to write and express ideas at a good level.
  • Approachable, collaborative, results-oriented, problem-solver who can both provide and take direction well.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - not afraid to have difficult discussions.
  • Team building skills, proactively seeking opportunities to develop team members.
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • A culture instigator - within the agency and in the world.
  • Computer literacy with fluency in entire Adobe Creative Suite.

Per local requirements and in the interest of transparency, the range shown below reflects the prevalent current hiring range for this position. Hiring pay rates are based on a number of factors, including location and may vary depending on job-related qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience. Endeavor strives to provide locally competitive rewards packages, which include base rate along with, as applicable, short- and long-term incentives, growth and developmental opportunities, and robust benefits, such as health care, retirement, vacation and other paid time off, and additional offerings.
Hiring Range Minimum:
$101,250 annually
Hiring Range Maximum:
$135,000 annually
