The Senior Analyst, Global Category Strategy will be responsible for leading all category analytics against Benefit's largest and most complex business categories in order to guide strategy development and key short term and long-term business decisions. This role will partner closely with multiple strategic leads on the Global Category Strategy team to understand key business needs, define analyses to answer business questions, and uncover new business opportunities/trends. This individual will also manage the internal beauty industry database by serving as the main point of contact for external agency partners, executing monthly updates with data received from our external partners, and lead key processes to define new markets for Benefit.
What You'll Do:
- Lead all ongoing analyses across Brows, Pores, Services, and other categories as needed, including bi-annual market share tracking, quarterly Benefit performance and industry analyses, forecasting support, product/services launch goal setting and reporting. Additional adhoc analyses as needed.
- Partner with strategy leads to understand requirements for strategic business questions, assess available data for analysis and develop key recommendations based on analyses. Creatively use available data to confidently present key insights and opportunities to key stakeholders on Global Category Strategy team.
- Annually lead and present cross-category global beauty industry analyses and insights to Global Category Strategy team. Gather data across multiple markets and sources and collaborate with analytics team to uncover key insights and opportunities globally and at market levels.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing analysts on monthly campaign and category KPI trackers, ensuring accuracy of all data and reporting.
- Maintain Benefit's internal database with global beauty industry data, updating monthly with new data and updating previous periods to reflect most recent information; publish reports and dataset for global and regional teams to utilize. Serve as primary point of contact with external beauty industry data partners.
- Support Senior Manager, Global Category Strategy Analytics on cross-category data and analysis initiatives, such as monthly total performance reporting, Portfolio Management, and data warehousing and architecture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of analytical work experience
- Working knowledge of basic data analysis structures, classifications and data warehousing
- Expertise in Excel, including use of pivot tables and advance functions
- Experience with visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) and/or relational databases
- Familiarity with basic retail business, statistical concepts, and/or beauty industry
Schedule:
- Flex - requires onsite presence 1 week/month, and according to business needs
The target salary range for this position is $90,000-$120,000 annually. The actual salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
