Job Purpose: Sony Music Publishing is looking for a highly motivated Senior Analyst to join the Worldwide Financial Planning & Analysis team, based in New York. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work in a Media business undergoing a period of rapid change and development, with a Finance team driven by a commitment to deliver excellent standards of service. You will be joining a small, nimble team that offers a real opportunity to develop an expertise in music publishing and broaden an understanding of financial analysis, strategy and operations.
What You'll Do:
- Contribute to annual budgeting and monthly / quarterly forecasting process for multi-national corporation with operations in 30+ countries
- Build and maintain financial reporting models for budgeting and forecasting purposes, including detailed revenue models as well as fully integrated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow models
- Assist in the creation of strategic and financial materials to corporate parent (Sony Group)
- Help drive the overall company strategic direction through analysis of market trends, industry developments, competitors, market share, and business unit activities
- Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives and ad-hoc reporting
- 2+ years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Investment banking or Big Four accounting experience is a plus
- CPA license is a plus
- Advanced user of Microsoft Office Software applications, particularly Excel, and ability to learn and reconcile to other accounting and financial reporting systems (e.g., Power BI, Navision, SAP BPC)
- Ability to analyze accounting data and communicate effectively at a senior level to explain issues and results
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and explain financial concepts in a clear manner to non-finance professionals
- Follows through on open issues and meets deadlines in the most efficient and effective way, ensuring that open items are resolved satisfactorily
- Sets priorities and plans workload efficiently and with clear deadlines and deliverables
- Consults manager where appropriate to communicate ideas or solutions, solve problems and complete tasks and projects to deadlines
- Able to make appropriate decisions, with broader business implications in mind, enabling issues to move forward to completion
- Flexible, effective and enthusiastic approach to implementing tasks, taking on new assignments, managing projects and servicing requests
- Continuously strives to improve performance and efficiency
- Proven ability to think through issues in a constructive manner and recommend and effect appropriate actions and solutions

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $95,000 - $105,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for.
