The Senior Aerospace Logistics Engineering - Training focuses on the analysis and development of training requirements for Bell’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) Family of Systems. This position resides within Bell’s Integrated Product Support (IPS) Integrated Product Team (IPT) and is responsible for the development of training and training support concepts and strategies.
Responsibilities include:
- Developing training strategies and requirements based on weapon system design;
- Evaluating planned training methodologies and technologies;
- Assessing training concepts for compatibility with current Army training regulations, policies, and directives;
- Conducting training system requirements analysis and task development;
- Conduct training cost assessments and scheduling activities and
- Identify and document recommendations for Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations.
This position supports the development of other activities including:
- Crew station design influence and evaluation;
- Technical Publication development including weapon system operator manuals, aircrew training manuals, and air crew check lists;
- Provide input to Maintenance Task Analysis and Logistics Product Data efforts within the IPS IPT.
This position is accountable for identification and documentation of technological advances, analyzing aircraft systems and component designs, assessing aircraft flight characteristics and mission systems to determine operator, maintainer, and support personnel training concepts and training resources that provide optimum trainability of the fielded Future Armed Reconnaissance Aircraft (FARA). The analysis consists of detailed studies to identify training methods, alternatives, potential trainability deficiencies and identification of personnel skills / knowledge required to operate and maintain the weapon system.
Position Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a working knowledge and the requisite skill sets to work within the IPT/organization.
- Analyze baseline aircraft, engineering drawings, layouts, concepts and data. Identify, document and implement technological advances and other design improvements, which can improve the training support products. Estimate and document expected improvements as a result of utilizing these technologies.
- Examine design drawings to determine that all potential operations, support and maintenance requirements are analyzed, and training support solutions are documented.
- Ensure new aircraft training system design optimizes use and development of innovative Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS).
- Remain knowledgeable of the latest technology systems and emerging techniques in the aerospace industry for information influencing advance of product supportability and training of operators and maintainers.
- Advise management of major product, industry trends and needs as observed during the development of supportability products and training solutions.
- Performs all assigned tasks to an acceptable quality standard with minimal supervision.
- Compliant to company processes, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
- Support and assist in data preparation and presentation for program reviews and perform other work as directed.
- Perform to a set of performance metrics and measurements that give visibility to cost and schedule objectives.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Master’s Degree preferred
Position Requirements:
- 15+ years of US Army training and/or maintenance experience or 10+ years of commercial aviation training
- US Army aviation experience / leadership with focus on aviation training development
- Experience working within US Army training development programs and/or organizations including US Arm
Aviation Center of Excellence institutional training facilities, Directorate of Training and Doctrine (DoTD), Organization and Personnel Force Development (OPFD), and/or US Army led aviation New Equipment Training Team (NETT)
- Familiarization with Manned-Unmanned Teaming (MUM-T), existing, and emerging US Army aviation weapon systems
- US Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE) course instructor / manager certification
- Familiarization with the design, development, fielding and sustainment of Training Aids, Devices, Simulators, and Simulations (TADSS) and/or Simulator Instructor/Operator
- Attack and/or Scout aviation mission expertise with qualification in AH-64D/E, OH-58D or equivalent aircraft
- Standardization Instructor Pilot
- Must possess or obtain a Secret Security Clearance
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Must be experienced with the Microsoft software suite
- Must have excellent communication skills
