POSITION SUMMARY

Heritage Werks is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their growing team! Reporting to the CFO, the Senior Accountant oversees day-to-day accounting functions, prepares financial reporting and analysis, and supports the optimization of internal systems and processes. Ideal candidates will be experienced with full-cycle accounting procedures, possess strong business acumen, demonstrate a high level of professionalism, and be comfortable working in a remote environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow, and reporting.
• Manage accuracy of financial transactions in the general ledger, reconciling accounts, and resolving discrepancies, as required.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive initiatives to increase efficiency, expedite workflows, and drive automation, especially to support the maintenance of online filing systems and migration from paper-based methods.
• Assist with the design, preparation, and oversight of budgets.
• Manage the tracking and analysis of client expenses and the optimization of expense system (Concur.)
• Support administration of payroll, new hire set-up and onboarding, and employee benefits.
• Recommend and implement modifications to improve existing accounting procedures and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
• Assist with special projects and perform all other responsibilities, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required; a CPA is a plus.
• At least four (4) years of progressive accounting experience is required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Exceptional attention to detail along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Inclination to take initiative and drive to achieve desired outcomes.
• Proven ability to work well independently and collaboratively with employees at all levels within a remote work environment.
• Must possess the highest level of integrity in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
• Proficient to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office products and accounting software is critical; prior experience with QuickBooks and/or Concur is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
