This is a temporary-to-permanent position and candidates must:

• Live locally to Tampa
• Be available to working in-office 5 days/week
• Able to interview and start working immediately

Job Details

Responsibilities:
As a Contract Senior Accountant, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Overseeing and managing the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reflected.
2. Preparing and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
3. Conducting detailed financial reporting, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling.
4. Collaborating with other departments to gather necessary data for financial reporting.
5. Assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and analyzing any variances.
6. Ensuring compliance with all internal controls and procedures related to financial reporting.
7. Participating in the month-end and year-end closing process, including account reconciliations and journal entries.
8. Supporting external audit activities by preparing necessary schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.
9. Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis and presentation of financial reports.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role
3. Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, vlookups, and complex formulas.
5. Experience with financial reporting and preparation of financial statements.
6. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
7. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
9. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to make sound decisions.
10. CPA certification is preferred, but not required.
