About the role
LifeMD, Inc. is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive individual to join our team as Senior Accountant, specializing in SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting & Compliance. As a key member of our dynamic company, you will be responsible for consolidating and reporting external financial information in accordance with SEC reporting requirements. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy of various Technical Accounting matters and compliance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley. In this position, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with personnel from different departments and work closely with both internal and external auditors. Responsibilities
- SEC Reporting - Preparation of 10-Q and 10-K filings as well as the validation of financial statements and footnotes ensuring compliance with US GAAP and all SEC reporting requirements including preparation of footnote schedules. Preparation of additional SEC filings as needed including 8-Ks, S-3s and S-8s
- Technical Accounting - Provide Technical Accounting research on the treatment of complex or non-standard accounting issues in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Manage interactions with and develop the Company’s memos and other analyses for internal and external auditors for their audit/review of quarterly and annual financial statements and specific accounting matters. Technical accounting areas include but are not limited to revenue recognition, capitalized software, leases, intangible assets, debt and equity
- Consolidation – Perform the monthly consolidation process to ensure complete and accurate financial statements, including topside entries and intercompany eliminations
- Equity Accounting – Perform equity and stock-based compensation calculations quarterly and maintain the Company’s equity accounting records
- Tax - Assist in various aspects of income tax and payroll tax including the annual tax provision and associated internal controls
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) – Partner with the Director, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting & Compliance to develop SOX documentation, implement policies and internal controls and ensure key internal controls are properly identified and function as designed
- Audit – Assist in the completion of relevant quarterly audit activities and liaise with the internal and external auditors to ensure audits are completed in a timely manner
- Financial Systems - Participate in select aspects of key projects concerning financial systems and internal controls including implementations and enhancements
- Special Projects - Participate in special projects as assigned by the CFO, Controller and Director, SEC Reporting, Technical Accounting & Compliance
- Establish strong relationships with all levels of the business and various departments
Requirements
- CPA preferred, or working toward CPA
- 3-4 years of public accounting experience; or mix of public and private accounting. Some public company experience preferred
- Strong consolidation and reporting experience
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, with the ability to perform Technical Accounting research and write Technical Accounting memos
- Strong knowledge of SOX and internal controls
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing priorities under tight deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as a team
- Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
