About The Job:
The Client is currently searching for an experienced Senior Accountant for their corporate Pittsburgh location to assist the Controller and financial team with accounting related activities, helping to ensure timely, accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with firm policy, IRS and other regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger integrity by independently reviewing financial transactions to ensure accurate posting, proposing and posting journal entries as appropriate.
- Contribute to month-end close processes by preparing month-end trial balance, balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, and other financial reports.
- Enhance departmental efficiency through process change, technological upgrades and other project related work in conjunction with the Controller.
- Utilize honed accounting skills to prepare banking paperwork, detailed reconciliations and other financial reports, prepare and file tax forms, participate in annual and special purpose audits, prepare various memos and administer website access.
Requirements:
- A demonstrated ability to compile, review and discuss basic financial statements from trial balance.
- The ability to plan, organize, manage and execute multiple, simultaneous responsibilities, meeting firm deadlines.
- Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas and explain issues effectively with team members of all levels.
- An upbeat attitude, desire to work collaboratively, and willingness to contribute to a team environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
- Seven (7) or more years of experience in accounting at a law firm or in a professional services firm.
