Your Role At Baxter:

The America's Accounting Center of Expertise (CoE) supports Baxter's monthly, quarterly and annual accounting and financial close processes and has high visibility to senior leadership supporting Baxter's UCAN Finance organization.

This team focuses on ensuring accurate accounting treatment for complex areas of accounting, evaluating internal controls, and establishing efficient close processes.

This position requires strong cross-functional collaboration with various Local Country Finance contacts, the Costa Rica Shared Services Center (SSC) and other members of the Accounting CoE.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Review revenue contracts and operational transactions and apply proper US GAAP accounting treatment and completion of related documentation for audit purposes
• Complete manual journal entries for Month End Close and prepare/review account reconciliations
• Partner with cross-functional business teams to ensure accurate/timely reporting of monthly financial data, including required US GAAP/management adjustments and accounting support
• Review of result (trend, variance, growth analyses) for areas of support
• Execute close processes including communication of task results to key business stakeholders
• Lead process improvement initiatives and drive implementation and monitoring post-implementation

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA preferred
• Demonstration of key accounting/finance proficiencies and qualifications; typically 2 plus years of working experience
• Ability to handle ambiguity and to apply professional judgement
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements and relevant business environments
• Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and to effectively escalate or resolve issues to meet deadlines
• Process improvement and process innovation experience desired
• Experience using JDE and consolidation tools (i.e., Hyperion Financial Management) preferred
• Adaptable, self-starter with strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment, often cross-functionally

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $60,000 to $132,000. The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
