Overview
Electronic Products Inc. is seeking a candidate with experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller in a small to mid-sized manufacturing organization. This candidate will be responsible for managing the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, job costing, inventory, monthly summaries and preparing financial reports for the CFO. Candidate should have strong financial, management and communication skills. In the role, candidate will monitor the company’s financial status, and manage accounting transactions through our ERP system. To be successful in this role, candidate should have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the monthly, quarterly & year-end close processes.
- Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, invoicing and credit as well as collections.
- Manage and oversee (1) Accounting Associate.
- Prepare/post journal entries to general ledger for all activities.
- Assist the CFO with projects, systems initiatives and operational process improvements.
- Budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
- Produce financial statements, provide analysis and appropriate reporting.
- Document, monitor and update accounting policies.
- Ensure all payments and transactions are completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits).
- Track corporate financial KPIs.
- Manage P&C insurance renewal process.
- Report cash transactions and balances on a weekly basis and distribute to management teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems.
- Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations in partnership with outside accountants.
Minimum Requirements
- 10 years of progressively greater responsibility in an accounting department progressing to a similar role
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- BS or MS in Accounting or Finance.
- Manufacturing experience is required.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Experience with cash management and risk assessment.
- Extremely strong and practical knowledge of accounting software.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
