Senior Accountant
Summary
As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations, with a specific focus on our business units in the US and Canada. Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards in both countries, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts for the US and Canada, providing insights into revenue projections, expense management, and capital expenditures
- Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements across manufacturing and agricultural operations in both countries
- Collaborate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns, including corporate income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements
- Continuously assess accounting processes and systems to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and strengthen internal controls

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
- Experience in both US and Canadian operations
- CPA license, preferred
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights
