Senior Accountant

PeopleShare is currently hiring for a Senior Accountant in the Princeton, NJ area for a growing Auto Insurance Company!
Schedule is : Monday- Friday, Normal Business hours
Salary Range: $85-$95k with incredible benefits, PTO and 401k. (Fully in office)
Job Responsibilities & Description for Senior Accountant:
• Looking for a Senior Accountant to support the monthly/quarterly/annual financial close and financial reporting processes for a STAT basis insurance company and a GAAP basis management company.
• The Senior Accountant will focus primarily on financial reporting but will be expected to assist in operational/budgeting and ad hoc accounting projects as needed
• This role will report directly to the Assistant Controller
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close for insurance entity (STAT basis) and management company (GAAP basis)
• Prepare account reconciliations and process journal entries
• Prepare variance analysis to explain fluctuations in key accounts
• Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures
• Interact with external auditors to provide explanations/support for financial statement audits
• Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of policies and procedures and internal controls
• Support Controller in preparation of materials for quarterly Board reporting (slide deck, industry highlights, etc.)
Job Requirements for Senior Accountant:
• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Minimum 3 years of experience (either public accounting or in industry)
• Experience in both GAAP and STAT reporting for insurance companies
• Must be very proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must possess strong financial accounting/general ledger skills and understanding
• Experience in Property & Casualty insurance with emphasis on private passenger auto
• Experience working with general ledger software
