We are expanding and looking for a talented and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a vital role in ensuring the financial health and well-being of our company. You will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks, requiring a strong understanding of B2B tech industry financials and startup experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of accounting; billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.
- Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management.
- Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors.
- Ensure all financial reports and records are prepared accurately and maintained in compliance with all federal, state, local and professional requirements.
- Monitor budgets throughout the year and report any significant deviations to management.
- Establish, implement, and maintain all accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls as deemed appropriate by the Executive Leadership Team.
- Work with the Sales team to ensure proper consideration of revenue recognition aspects in the sales forecast.
- Identify opportunities to improve, accelerate, and enhance the revenue cycle, and drive these initiatives to completion.
- Manage all US Tax planning and compliance, including quarterly provisions and annual tax returns filings and other required reporting while working with company’s tax consultants.
- Manage the month/quarter end close ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Work with a global team to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and teamwork.
- Develop and track KPIs to provide business insights to department leads and executive management, leveraging knowledge of key financial and operational drivers.
- Identify opportunities for automating processes and increasing efficiency.
- Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal compliance.
- Authorize wires and ACH transactions.
- Oversee preparations of documents for Executive Management meetings
- Perform such other tasks and duties as may be required or assigned from time to time in the Company’s discretion.
Qualifications:
- Prior startup experience.
- 7+ years’ experience in accounting preferably with B2B software companies, smaller growth companies in high tech. SaaS experience is a plus.
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Finance or Accounting, ideally with CPA.
- Outstanding knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting.
- Strong general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and bank working knowledge.
- International expansion experience, overseeing global accounting operations, and providing guidance as the company opens in new areas.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and professional presence.
- Strong management, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a complete manner.
- Detail oriented, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willing to work with the Korea (Seoul) team during non-workday hours and weekends as needed.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation principles.
- Demonstrated success working with individuals across all departments and job levels.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Korean and English for stakeholder reporting is an added plus.
