POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the monthly general ledger close and balance sheet / income statement analysis. The Senior Accountant will analyze facility performance, effectively communicate performance to facility Administrators and Regional Vice President. Develop / maintain operational performance measurement tools and analysis and assist in the implementation of new accounting principles. Identify improvements to internal control policies and procedures and interact with external auditors during interim and annual reviews.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor's Degree of Accounting, Finance, or similar field is required.
Attained or strong desire to attain CPA designation.
Candidates must have a minimum five (5) years of financial experience working in a financial reporting role.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills are required and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and management.
Heavy use of Microsoft Excel pivot tables, v-lookup and use of macros.
Use of Solomon or other major accounting software such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, SAP, AS400, Lawson and JD Edwards. FRX reporting a plus.
Healthcare industry or multi facility experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform the monthly financial closing processes including preparation of monthly financial reports, analysis, and journal entries.
Review general ledger balances; income and expense analysis.
Timely completing of all balance sheet reconciliations and special projects and other duties as assigned.
