Senior Account Executive, Corporate Communications + Sustainability Pr

BPCM is currently seeking a Senior Account Executive to join their Sustainability team. The ideal candidate will have experience in sustainability and impact and will be passionate about making a difference in the world. Media Relations

• Develop and implement strategic communications plans for clients focusing on sustainability and impact
• Securing strategic press coverage (features and long-form stories) in national and key regional magazines, newspapers, podcasts, TV, and online media outlets
• Proactively pitching and securing maximum editorial opportunities. Maintaining press interest in existing products and creating ‘buzz’ around new launches and client news
• Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the sustainability landscape and industry trends
• Participate in new business development activities, including research and proposal writing
• Developing and maintaining strong editorial relationships across multiple levels, including sustainability, business, and fashion editors

Client Relations

• Serve as a primary client contact with the proven ability to manage and drive multiple client account programs
• Support in planning, developing, and advising clients on integrated and measurable PR strategies
• Manage client initiatives and budgets, taking ownership of specific projects and ensuring timely delivery of projects
• Advising clients on positioning and messaging, developing and/or editing brand communications to meet press-facing needs (including, but not limited to press releases, talking points, interview responses, etc.)
• Ensure routine media inquiries are handled in a timely and efficient manner

Reporting

• Review media and reports compiled by junior team members on relevant client news and trends
• Oversee creation, maintenance and timely distribution of press credit reporting and budgetary tracking documents according to client preference

Writing

• Develop and write high-quality content for clients, including press releases and articles
• Participate in new business development activities, including research and proposal writing

Team Management/Development

• Directly manage day-to-day activity on multiple accounts
• Develop, support, and mentor junior team members, including interns
• Managing and mentoring junior staff reporting into this role while maintaining close communication with Supervisors or Directors to ensure efficient prioritization and workflow
• Passionate about being a champion for DEI initiatives, both internally and externally

Requirements

About You:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Sustainability, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in public relations or communications
• Experience in sustainability, social impact, or ESG communications
• Exhibiting strong writing, communication, and presentation skills to effectively articulate ideas to clients, agency, and colleagues
• Proven ability to develop and implement successful communications strategies
• Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient in MuckRack, PowerPoint, Excel, etc
• Passion for sustainability and making a positive impact on the world.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $70,000 - $85,000 annually. Actual compensation is based on a range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

Where a prospective employee will be paid within the compensation range listed above will depend on a number of factors including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience and qualifications; the level of specialization the role requires; budgetary considerations, and the local market conditions that exist where the employee will be based.
