PCCW Global & Console Connect's Network Engineering team is seeking a dynamic Security Systems Engineer to join its ranks. As part of a collaborative team comprising Network Engineers, Systems Engineers, and DevOps professionals, you will play a pivotal role in automating the secure development, deployment, and assurance of systems and services supporting a global Internet backbone network.

The position is available as fully remote, with occasional travel expected. Regular and occasional online meetings can happen at odd hours to accommodate timezones of participants.

SOME OF YOUR TASKS WILL INCLUDE:

• Working on various elements such as firewalls, bare metal computing and storage devices, virtualized solutions (VMware and KVM), and containerized solutions (mainly Kubernetes).
• Maintaining hardware and software infrastructure that hosts services, utilizing CI/CD techniques for efficient deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborating with the Infosec team for the swift remediation of vulnerabilities identified by both internal and external scanners.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• USA Citizenship, with actual residence within the USA.
• 2-3 years of experience.
• Proven experience as a security engineer with a background in system administration and an understanding of ISO27001 compliance challenges.
• A pragmatic problem-solving approach, especially in the context of managing complex, global networks.
• Proficiency in multiple technologies, among but not limited to:
  • Linux system administration (Ubuntu and RedHat)
  • VMware and KVM virtualization
  • Kubernetes-based containers
  • Datacentre networking and switching
  • Storage solutions
  • Ansible automation
  • Jenkins
  • Scanning and Penetration Testing
  • Programming/advanced scripting (preferably Python)
  • Gitlab
  • Cisco and/or Fortigate firewalls
• Knowledge of VPN technologies, including IPSEC and MPLS based VPNs, is a bonus.
