Primary Responsibilities
- Determine and coordinate training of the department and enforce policy and safety/security rules.
- Provide guidance and direction in solving and answering security problems and questions.
- Approve and prepare work schedules and schedule replacement personnel.
- Represent the department at personnel, planning and safety meetings and relay information to employees and the Security Operations Manager.
- Act as primary trainer for the Security Department. Develop, implement, and oversee the security department training program. Lead on-the-job training and conduct procedural and equipment review.
- Edit, document and refine Security Officer tours of duty in response to the needs of the Company.
- Prepare, conduct and/or attend meetings and conferences as requested.
- Review and evaluate daily desk logs and incident reports for all shifts and, ensure timely information distribution and notification of management.
- Perform periodic audits of security procedures and methods.
- Assist the Security Systems Administrator with layout, configuration, documentation, programming and coordination of installations of new fire/security alarm systems.
- Perform duties such as creating/revising job descriptions, conducting Talent Development discussion sessions, rating performance, establishing/tracking goals and completing annual wage reviews.
- Responsible for coaching, motivating, mentoring, and developing direct reports to successfully take on additional responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent, along with 8-15 years related experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Must maintain a telephone at place of residence
- Shift is Monday thru Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in criminal justice and at least three years of prior supervisory experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of physical security, law enforcement, company security programs and federal, state and local security regulations.
