Position Overview:
The Security Specialist inspects and recommends security improvements for facilities ensuring access control security system processes, procedures and policies comply with Executive Orders and national standards. Additionally, perform duties associated with emergencies including operating emergency vehicles, directing traffic, and establishing crowd control. Duty Hours – Mission Essential positions staffed 24/7/365.

The Security Specialist responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to the following:
Providing superior customer service, to include the tasks below:

- Monitoring Access Control, Intrusion Detection and Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) Systems
- Dispatching Guard Force to Incidents and Alarm Activations
- Review and Prepare Documentation, daily blotter, incident report documentation.
- Conducts Access Control Duties Into the ROC
- Receives incoming and redirects telephone calls.
- Maintains building Standard Form-700, Security Container
- Maintains Building Emergency Point of Contact lists.
- Monitors Facility Systems and Reports Issues to Facility Points of Contact
- Operates the Stationary and Mobile Radio System
- Follows Procedures in Accordance with Standard Operating Procedures
- All Security Related Actions for USG Taken During Emergency and Non-Emergency Situations at client facilities.
- Makes Appropriate Notifications during Day-To-Day Operations, Alarm Activations and Emergency Situations
- Conducts perimeter security checks and Crisis Alert responses and other buildings checks as required.
- Operate active vehicle barrier systems, as appropriate.
Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
The Grade 3 Security Specialist shall have the following qualifications:
- 3 -5+ years of experience working in a security function directly related to the discipline required
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of study is preferred.
- Technical training or expertise may be required for certain disciplines.
The Grade 4 Security Specialist shall have the following qualifications:
- 5 -10+ years of experience working in a security function directly related to the discipline required
- Bachelor’s degree in any field of study is preferred, advanced degrees desired.
- Technical training or expertise may be required for certain disciplines.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
