This role is for an on-site Security Operations Specialist I in Asset Protection's Security Operations Center (SOC) based at Dollar Tree corporate headquarters in Chesapeake, Virginia. The candidate must possess expertise in incident response, and managing programs, projects, investigations, processes, and technology. Excellent communication, organizational skills, creativity in problem-solving, and adapting to changing priorities, are required for success in this position. The role will be responsible for security monitoring through triage, investigation, communication, and reporting, focused on high-risk incident response with potential brand impact and investigations on an enterprise level.
Responsibilities
- Effectively respond to inbound high-risk incident calls utilizing internal guidelines, directing callers on immediate actions and follow-up based on each incident's requirements.
- Knowledge of incident response and protocols with the ability to manage and direct stores on high-risk incidents.
- Review and escalate potential workplace violence incidents ensuring communication to appropriate leadership partners in Asset Protection and Human resources.
- Investigate potential internal theft incidents, gift card fraud, and high-impact shoplifting/ORC events, referring to appropriate field AP leadership when losses have been confirmed.
- Assist with video verification and alarm reviews.
- Manage security issues and engage with field asset protection teams and operations teams to ensure timely remediation of issues, escalating as necessary to ensure appropriate levels of urgency and engagement.
- Monitor threat analysis information and extreme weather for potential emerging hazards to the business and escalate accordingly.
- Coordinate efforts of the emergency response team, asset protection personnel, associates, management, and outside agencies.
- Monitors operations nationally using all available security systems/technology and takes appropriate action as needed.
- Respond to and maintain current and accurate knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Proficient in incident management Security Operations, risk analysis, and emergent security intelligence.
- Possess a combination of troubleshooting, technical, and communication skills.
- 3+ years' professional experience, in retail Asset Protection and Incident Detection & Response
- Prior hands-on responsibility for SOC operations
- Ability to work any shift pattern within the 24/7/365 operation including days, nights, holidays, and weekends.
- Proven ability to work with colleagues at a variety of seniority levels. Ability to build partnerships and communicate to internal and external stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Have experience generating documentation and reports to describe service and program impact/effectiveness and consistency.
- Proven results utilizing the implementation of technology solutions and vendor partnerships in multiple physical security, workplace violence, and incident management disciplines.
