Why does the job exist?
The purpose of this position is to provide and maintain a safe and secure environment for residents,
family members and employees at a long-term care facility by patrolling and monitoring premises
and personnel
How does it get done?
Patrols property to safeguard against theft, vandalism, potential hazards, and loss.
Secures assigned buildings, grounds, and assists in controlling any disorders.
Reports any problems occurring during shifts and reports distrubances to local policy authorities
Who are the customers?
Residents, Staff and Visitors of a long-term care facility.
Ideal Candidate
Will have:
The ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Basic knowledge of security procedures, regulations and current applicable laws, as well as procedures to
follow during emergency conditions.
The ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action in a timely fashion.
Minimum Qualification
Eighth grade education.

Employment Requirements
Driver's License, Defensive Driving Certificate, Background investigation
Working Conditions
Works in all areas inside and outside of the facility.
Moves intermittently during working hours.
Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Communicates with the medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department directors.
Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)
May be exposed to inclement weather.
