- Position Summary
- The Security Guard assumes responsibility and accountability for actions, which include, but are not limited to: Security Guard provides general security duties for the protection of the hospital, its property, staff and visitors. Responds to and reports unusual conditions.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- High school degree or equivalent required.Credentials
- Credentials
- BLS required. Completion of CPI training required.
- Physical Demands
- Stand and/or walk constant.
- Lift 50 pounds floor to waist occasionally.
- Climb ladder and/or 26 steps occasionally.
- Bend frequently.
- Eye-hand coordination within normal limits.
- Essential Functions
- Responds to Codes, Gray, Blue, and Pink. Red, Silver, Orange and Yellow and other security incidents when requested.
- Tests levels of security on a regular basis to ensure adequate security is being maintained.
- Notes observed operational or maintenance discrepancies and communicates information to maintenance staff for correction. This includes parking lot lights, exterior building lights, and other safety related hazards.
- Assists staff with patient escorts, lift assists and deliveries.
- Demonstrates safety and competent use of equipment. Demonstrates proper use of software applications to carry out duties.
- Ability to observe and correct unsafe conditions before a problem arises. Knowledge of hospital safety and security policies and procedures preferred.
- Ability to work with intoxicated, hostile or uncooperative persons required.
