- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in detection engineering with YARA, Snort/Suricata, EDR rule creation.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 years of experience in security monitoring, detection engineering, or security operations.
- 3 years of experience responding to security problems in goal-oriented environments such as security alerts, analysis, and response.
- Experience with cloud-based security solutions and services, including Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience addressing cloud-based threats.
- Experience with signals development and threat hunting/modeling.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Responsibilities
- Conduct technical threat actor behavior analysis and perform into cloud activity.
- Work with teams from around Google to discover new detection capabilities.
- Write and improve YARA-L rules to track and identify potentially malicious behavior in cloud environments.
