General Summary:
The Security Content Engineer is responsible for the creation of security-focused content and detection capabilities for ConnectWise's security platforms. This role works in partnership with the Product and Security Operations teams to provide up to date security focused threat detection content for use by our security products and platforms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to the Security Operations team, with a high attention to detail.
  • Researches, analyzes, and documents findings.
  • May coach and review the work of other team members.
  • Manages and prioritizes Security Content requests from both internal teams and partners.
  • Builds security-focused content and detections for our security platforms.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation and tuning of existing content and detection rules.
  • Assists with custom content requests received from partners.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor for security related questions and concerns

  • Ability to manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable work area
  • Ability to situationally adapt and understand new technology/processes as per business and partner.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of the Managed Service Provider and Managed Security Service Provider industries
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity controls and frameworks such as CIS and NIST CSF

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent business experience
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Managed Threat Detection (MDR) and Security Information and Event Management
    (SIEM) solutions.
  • Experience with information security and data privacy compliance including GDPR, HIPAA, CMMC, etc.
  • Preferred: Experience with the Elastic ELK stack.

Working Conditions:
  • Onsite/Hybrid/Remote depending on location.
  • 0-10% travel may be required.
