Responsibilities:
- Assemble historical financial models using SEC filings, company conference calls, and press releases.
- Conduct financial, statistical, and industry analysis on companies and the industry to support the team’s investment thesis.
- Research sector trends to support company/sector recommendations.
- Prepare reports/primers on economies, markets, and industries.
- Initiate and build relationships with clients to develop a network of contacts.
- Work with monthly prepayment related data flow, from fourth business day release of information from the issuing agencies, to production of monthly prepayment commentary, outlook and chartbooks.
- Extract new emerging trends and encapsulating into stylized write‐ups for inclusion in the existing Agency MBS publications distributed to clients.
- Work with prepayment modeling to develop synergies in evaluation, analysis, development and marketing.
- Analyze and use models to forecast and write reports on gross mortgage origination trends.
- Perform risk analysis within the agency MBS market, based on knowledge of the structure of the agency MBS market and key drivers of risk.
- Process large datasets (collecting, aggregating, cleaning, analyzing) and interpreting the aggregated data analysis results.
- Conduct stochastic interest rate modeling like Hull White, G2++ and applying interest rate models in MBS analytics calculation.
- Employ statistical modeling, including multi-variable linear and non-linear regressions to develop MBS prepayment models.
- Analyze and write reports on specified MBS pool prepayments and associated pay-ups relative to TBA MBS.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Mathematical Finance or related
- 2 years of experience in the job offered or a related finance occupation.
- Must include 2 years of experience in each of the following:
- Performing risk analysis within the agency MBS market, based on knowledge of the structure of the agency MBS market and key drivers of risk;
- Processing large datasets (collecting, aggregating, cleaning, analyzing) and interpreting the aggregated data analysis results;
- Conducting stochastic interest rate modeling like Hull-White, G2++ and applying interest rate models in MBS analytics calculation;
- Employing statistical modeling, including multi-variable linear and non-linear regressions to develop MBS prepayment models; and,
