POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the HR Manager, the Seasonal HR Coordinator is responsible for the coordination and administration of seasonal camp new hires and re-hires with a focus on supporting the Human Resources department in processing campsite hires during a high-volume period of hiring.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation on a weekly basis.
  • Process the Pre-Employment process on all required applicants, including references and background checks (BGC).
  • Serve as a visible point of contact/resource for camp new hires.
  • Assist Camp Directors in the pre-employment paperwork process for camp hires.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of new hire paperwork including but not limited to minor working papers, I-9 completed forms and documentation, etc.
  • Ensure employee records are in compliance with federal and state regulations as per the respective guidelines.
  • Track hires, rehires, and transfers of camp staff in the Master Camp Spreadsheet
  • Communicate to Camp Directors weekly on the status of camp documents and roster of camp staff.
  • Receive completed application documents from Directors, review them for accuracy, and complete all needed signatures.
  • Create files of new hires and submit reviewed documents to HR Manager for entry in the payroll database.
  • Start and follow up on the reference/BGC online process.
  • Start and follow up required online training of camp employees.
  • Occasional travel to campsites
  • Late evening(s) and or Saturday hours as needed.
  • Complete all other duties, as requested, and assigned.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with members, volunteers, staff, and participants.
  • Attend required Abuse Risk Management training and adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising members and participants.
  • Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations and follow mandated abuse reporting procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School degree or the equivalent knowledge required, college degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of Human Resources (HR) experience
  • Strong verbal, written and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, telephone manners and professional demeanor required.
  • Detailed oriented and the ability to perform in a fast-paced environment while being patient and thorough with processes in place.
  • Intermediate/Advanced computer skills in MS Office applications, Excel/Outlook /Word
  • Personable.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as with a Team.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA laws relating to confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with staff at all levels of the Organization.
  • Ability to receive direction from multiple sources and prioritize accordingly.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This work requires the following physical activities: climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, repetitive motions, talking, hearing, and visual acuity. The work is performed primarily indoors and may require occasional travel.

20.00

WORK SCHEDULE:

Monday to Friday
April: Total Hours: Up to 25 hours
May: Total Hours: Up to 40 hours
June: Total Hours: Up to 40 hours
July: Total Hours: Up to 40 hours
August: Total Hours: Up to 25 hours

NOTES:

  • This position is temporary, from April through August 2024.
  • Availability to work the full assignment period from April 2024 to August 2024 is required.
