Seasonal Banquet Manager

NYYC is looking for a Seasonal Banquet Manager. This person will be joining a professional, dynamic, high-paced team. Responsibilities include supervising, motivating, and directing a team of banquet staff to set up and execute events. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work a flexible schedule. Weekend, nights, and holidays are required.

The Seasonal Banquet Manager oversees a vast variety of events at Harbour Court all over property. This can include banquets or club events ranging in size to 20-900 people in multiple different event spaces. Harbour Court is the home to some of the biggest regatta celebrations and many of our tented events are an “offsite catering” with a full catering kitchen and all supplies loaded in and out. The Seasonal Banquet Manager will be strongly skilled at logistics and communication with multiple departments including food and beverage, maintenance, culinary, front desk and more.

The NYYC events program operates at the highest quality level, including many different types of events, in an exquisite setting. The successful candidate will join a team that is internationally known for its sailing events and other unique, custom social events taking a leadership role with opportunity to succeed, learn and grow.

The New York Yacht Club (NYYC) is one Club that occupies two facilities. Today, the NYYC has its signature clubhouse on New York’s West 44th Street – a National Historic Landmark — and an on-the-water clubhouse in Newport, RI, Harbour Court.

This is a vibrant and active Club with international exposure. NYYC originally won the America’s Cup in 1851, held until 1983 and is competing again in Barcelona 2024. The property sits on 10 prime acres in Newport, RI and has a proud history of entertaining, the sport of sailing and general boating lifestyle are the core of the Harbour Court culture.

Pay: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
