Scientist - Msat Cell Culture & Purification Labs (Akta Fplc Exp.)

Immediate opportunity for a Scientist to support Manufacturing Sciences and Technology Department Labs. The primary function of the MSAT Lab group is to support manufacturing by performing small scale lab experiments in the area of Cell Culture and purification.

As a Scientist in the MSAT Lab group, you will perform routine lab operations in MSAT Cell Culture and Purification labs.

Position Type: Contract role for 1 yr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Executes Cell Culture and purification process development studies
• Executes small scale lab experiments following Standard Operation Procedures
• (SOPs) and laboratory batch records (LBRs)
• Follows laboratory safety protocols
• Collaborates with development scientists and cross-functional team members
• Organizes and analyzes data from process development studies
• Works with minimal supervision after training

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a life sciences or related field.
• Hands-on experience working (at least 1 year) with AKTA Explorer/Pure liquid chromatography system
• Requires record keeping and good communication skills
• Troubleshoot typical problems encountered during routine lab operations
• Must be comfortable with routine laboratory operations and documentation systems such as BPRs and SOPs
• Excellent record keeping and communication skills
• Demonstrates general knowledge in laboratory techniques used in Cell Culture and protein purification
• Basic biological laboratory skills, preferably handling and analyzing live Cell Cultures in aseptic environments, and/or experience with protein purification
• Able to troubleshoot typical problems encountered during routine lab operations

Preferences:

• Familiarity with Cell Culture process
• Familiarity with Cell Culture processes equipment such as bioreactors and downstream equipment for protein purification such as AKTA Pure/Avant is desirable
