N4 Solutions, LLC is seeking a Technical Writer to support our NINDS contract. This individual will be expected to assist in the patient engagement efforts programs and common data element for pain research program. This position is contingent upon passing a government suitability test.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Write and edit articles and other materials on areas of pain research and related public health issues, programs, and policies for varied national audiences.
- Prepare high profile meeting summaries and other materials such as science advances for programs such as the NIH Pain Consortium, the Helping End Addiction Long-term (HEAL) initiative, the Interagency Pain Research Coordinating Committee (IPRCC), and other programs in which the Office of Pain Policy and Planning (OPPP) participates.
- Prepare Congressional reports in areas related to NIH pain research initiatives and activities, IPRCC activities, NIH funding strategies and history, and other areas in which OPPP participates.
- Address target audiences who vary widely in their level of scientific expertise from the general public, to health care professionals, patients, and scientists.
- Research, write, edit, and finalize web content as well as print, and social media outlets.
- Edit and verify the scientific accuracy of communication products and programmatic or policy material written by others.
- Perform data collection and analyses to develop reports on issues of public health or pain research for OPPP activities and the programs it supports.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in biology, Life science/health discipline or other related discipline.
· 8-10 years expertise writing and editing technical and scientific documents, reports, and publications.
· Experience and understanding of public health policies.
· Ability to work effectively in teams.
· Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple complex projects concomitantly.
· U.S. Citizenship
Desired Qualifications:
· Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and data analysis platforms such as SAS.
- Expertise communicating complex scientific ideas to the public in clear, concise language.
- Experience in web design, content creation, graphic design, etc. is desired.
- Experience in research and developing public health related materials.
