CERTIFICATION:
Social Work License or Registration, required
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement, preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Effectively demonstrates facilitation skills, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, students, and staff
Experience and/or training in utilizing academic interventions and supporting students who have IEP's
Extensive experience working with youth, families, and community organizations
Experience in the development and facilitation of professional development
Experience working in a multicultural environment supporting anti-bias and anti-racist practices
Experience supporting restorative practices
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Individual and group sessions to help students cope with personal, social, academic, and family concerns
Coordinate student culture processes including Restorative Practices, PBIS, and Leader In Me
Teach classroom SEL lessons and support school wide SEL
Coordinate IEP and 504 plans
Work with McKinney Vento families and "at-risk" students
Support students with chronic discipline issues; monitor and identify attendance issues; meet with parents to help rectify these issues
Seek outside counseling support for students and families.
