The Role:
We are currently seeking a School Social Worker who will support secondary students at two of our partner schools in Pinckney, MI. The caseload will be split between the district middle school (grades 6-8) and high school (grades 9-12). We are looking for a professional who will be excited to be a part of the community within the school and is passionate about using their skills to make real, positive change.
School Hours:
7:30am - 2:40pm

Responsibilities:
- Maintain appropriate school records and provide written reports and communication logs
- Develop programs that provide counseling to address the child's social, emotional, and academic needs in areas such as school performance, anger management, conflict resolution or substance abuse, etc.
- Participates in IEP process, attends IEP meetings and provides updates for IEP Counseling goals and objectives.
- Provide one-on-one counseling or group counseling as needed to students and families
- Provide parents and guardians with information regarding community mental health resources and support networks
- Implementation of verbal and physical components of the Program's prescribed methodologies for verbal de-escalation or physical management, when necessary
- Provide informal and formal assessments
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Valid Social Work license issued in the state of Michigan
- School Social Work Certificate (SSW-310)
