Salary/Hourly Rate: $19.07 or above depending on experience
Hours of Work: 8 hrs/day, 5 days/week, 178 days/year (hours and assignment times vary daily)
Job Summary:
The School Nutrition Driver performs a variety of job responsibilities essential to the successful operation of the student meal program.
The School Nutrition Driver will work with a variety of foods and assist with the receiving, storage, preparation and serving of all foods on our menus, these foods include a wide variety of meats, nuts, legumes; a wide variety of fresh fruits & vegetables; breads & grains, and dairy products.
Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:
- Work closely with supervisor to manage food and supplies, communicating receiving/delivery
- Responsible for complete and accurate record keeping
- Ensure all deliveries and pick-ups are made at the scheduled time
- Receive orders, match to invoice and put away using set standards for receiving
- Pull forecasted products for off-site meal programs
- Deliver accurate internal transfers between sites
- Keep equipment used to transport food, vehicles, loading dock, storerooms, coolers, and freezers clean and organized
- Prepare cold foods- mix fresh ingredients for salads
- Peel and cut fresh fruits and vegetables, much of it from local farms
- Slice meats & craft sandwiches
- Restock serving lines during busy lunch periods
- Prepare fresh condiments & dressings
- Take great care with food safety i.e., take and record temperatures of food and food storage areas
- Cashier/serve meals
- Wash dishes ... and many other food service tasks
- Work experience in school food service or related food service operation desired
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
