- Assist in food preparation as assigned and set up food serving lines.
- Position involves handling a number of food allergens and a variety of meat products.
- Serve food in the correct portions by adhering to the production records and standardized recipes.
- Assist in clean up.
- Perform Point of Sale (POS) procedures as assigned.
- Adhere to District's HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points) plan.
- Wash, sanitize and store kitchen equipment and utensils according to USDA and local guidelines.
- Support and promote the meal programs offered at the site.
- Perform other tasks within the level of responsibilities indicated above as assigned by supervisor.
- Experience in a public school kitchen and/or background in related food service operations.
- Knowledge of government guidelines and procedures concerning sanitation and safety.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must have completed or be willing to enroll and complete the Sanitation and Safety and the School Nutrition Programs courses for Minnesota School Food Services Certification.
- Computer skills and experience or willing to learn.
- Regular, on-time attendance is required.
- Stooping, bending, occasional awkward positions may be necessary to perform essential functions of the position. Must be able to lift 31-50 lbs.
