School Nurse Job Description

S.E.A.L. is a private thereapeutic Special Education program looking for an additional School Nurse with the PEL-CSN endorsement. The CSN goal is to treat student injuries or illnesses and advise students, their parents or guardians, and staff on both mental and physical health issues.

Apart from injuries and sudden ailments, School Nurses may also support students with chronic illnesses and disabilities – for example, by administering medication (e.g. insulin injections). School nurses also promote health-related habits (e.g. proper hand-washing) and ensure compliance with national and local health policies for schools.

We're looking for a compassionate and dedicated School Nurse with experience in the special education school setting. The successful candidate for this position will have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a school environment. This includes educating students about healthy habits as well as responding to any medical emergencies at school and performing routine screenings.

Responsibilities:

• Take care of sick students.
• Maintain a well stocked medicine cabinet.
• Make sure the nurses' station is clean and organized.
• Respond to emergency situations in the school.
• Adhere to strict infection control standards.
• Ensure proper School Nurse training is provided.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations.
