Job Summary Job Summary This School Bus Attendant is responsible for the loading, unloading, care and supervision of one or more special education students being transported on District buses.

The type of assistance and care varies depending on the individualized disabilities of each child, such as assisting with wheelchairs, suctioning, lifting or carrying students. Online First Aid certificates are acceptable, however, CPR certificate must include "hands on" classroom training. If you do not have valid certification(s), you may submit certifications to a test proctor if you are selected to move forward in the testing process. The exams may consist of a performance test (30% weight) and a Qualifications Appraisal Interview (70% weight). Permanent district employees who receive passing scores on examinations are placed on a promotional eligibility list which is used ot fill vacancies as they occur within a six-month period.

This list supercedes an open eligibility list of external applicants who receive passing scores on examinations. Veterans may be eligible for preference points on examinations. Please attach a copy of your DD214 to your application.

Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance. In addition, the District will conduct a query with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration's (FMCSA) Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse to check for drug and alcohol violations.
