Job Title: School Age Services Coordinator
Department: School Age Services
Reports to: Program Manager
Pay $21.50/hr
FLSA: Non -Exempt
Purpose of Position- Provides leadership to Imagine! School Age Services and promotes the health and welfare of participants. Engages in skilled interaction with participants who require therapeutic supports, thus enabling them to access and utilize their community. Administer medication, provide g-tube feeding, and emergency support. Ensures program quality, maintains regulatory and licensure compliance, and contributes to the financial viability of the program. Acts in accordance with School Age Services (SAS) mission and guidelines, participants' Individual Plans, and Childcare Licensure.
Reports directly to the Program Manager. Serves as the point of contact for parents and providers as needed during After School Program, Summer Camp, and School Closure Day hours. Monitors and reports on data to ensure compliance with all applicable regulating agencies. Maintains professional relationships with all Imagine! participants and stakeholders.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
1. Promotes the health, safety, and welfare of the participants.

  • Ensures health and safety requirements set forth by SAS guidelines as well as all regulating agencies. This includes appropriate services and supports, such as positive instruction, assistance with personal hygiene, toileting, meals, etc.
  • Engages in skilled interaction with participants who require therapeutic supports to redirect aggressive or socially inappropriate behavior.
  • Assists participants in accessing and utilizing their community
  • Provides safe transportation for participants to community-based sites for activities using company cars, buses, walking, etc.
  • Responsible for administering all participants' daily medications and all participants' g-tube feedings.
  • Implement Individual Treatment/Behavior Plans developed by Behavior Therapists and/or BCBAs as needed.
  • Provide breaks, guidance, and day of schedule changes for SAS staff as needed.
  • Responsible for keeping the timing for the day and prompting transitions between daily activities.
  • Learns and consistently practices effective teaching skills, working with Therapeutic and SAS team as necessary.

2. Acts in accordance with SAS policies, mission, and the Individual Plans, Childcare License and regulations.
  • Maintains current, up-to-date knowledge of all regulatory and licensure issues and changes.
  • Supports and implements activities according to SASSA guidelines, in the context of activity protocols and plans, and in the context of a nurturing, stable environment.
  • Monitors and tracks data to ensure programmatic compliance.
  • Coordinates, monitors and tracks all volunteer and hours to report to Program Manager
  • Implements and reports on consumers' Individual Plans.
  • Completes documentation and tracking timely and accurately.
  • Communicates effectively with participants, guardians and family members, Community Counselors, Coordinators and Supervisors. This includes checking email, voicemail, and managing phone calls regularly before and during each shift.

3. Monitors and reports on data to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations, including Imagine! Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensures quality service delivery, meeting the guidelines set forth in Community Services quality standards, as well as follows schedules, information sheets, and plans.
  • Instructs in compliance with all applicable Federal, State, County and Municipal statutes, regulations, and Imagine! policies and procedures.
  • Completes all required training, including annual refreshers, in the appropriate timeframe.
  • Reports all behavioral incidents, medical emergencies, and/or significant changes in medical condition to supervisor, and completes all related paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for communicating daily communication report and status updates.
  • When on shift, this position is responsible for promptly receiving and responding to all calls to SAS mobile phone.

  1. Maintains respectful and professional relationships with participants, guardians and family members, and all School Age Services staff.

  1. Contributes to the financial viability and integrity of the program.
  • Assists the Program Supervisor with handling finances within the program (purchases for activities, ratios, non-billable time etc.)
  • Creates and maintains all Program schedules and quarterly publications, confirmations, and registration

Other Duties/Responsibilities
  • Supports Imagine!'s mission in the context of both individual and collaborative work.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings, workshops, in-services, discussions, etc.
  • Maintains and cares for Imagine! property, including supplies, vehicles, etc., being mindful of safety and cleanliness.
  • Represents and promotes Imagine! in the community.
  • Promotes team morale by being positive and professional.
  • Represents program in meetings and committees, as well as in promoting and marketing, as requested.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:
  • Demonstrated skill in working with people with developmental disabilities in a community.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage in skilled interaction with people who require therapeutic supports.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with individuals and groups at all professional levels.
  • Effective, creative negotiator and problem solver.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and responsibly.
  • Ability to work independently- traveling and working in the community.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks for self and others.
  • Ability to work effectively with various technology including word processing software, internet based databases, assistive technology, etc.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.
  • This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet

Training/Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of college preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to successfully complete required training curriculum. This includes developing an understanding of School Age Services structure, services, philosophy, as well as community resources.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 months' experience Community Counselor with the School Age Services program.

Working Environment/Physical Activities
  • Ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Ability to drive a mini-van and a large van with wheelchair lift.
  • Ability to push wheelchairs and to lift and transfer participants as related to toileting, diaper changing, and other health and activity related needs.
  • Strap wheelchairs into vehicles, fold and lift wheelchairs, carry supplies.
  • Physical activities may make up the majority of a work shift, with limited time to rest
  • Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.
  • Willingness and ability to respond to emergency situations as they arise.
