Position: School Age Program
Job Classification: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Center Director
Summary:
School-Age Classroom staff are responsible for the overall supervision of students and leads children in developmentally appropriate activities.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist children with homework completion, as necessary.
- Prepare weekly engaging social-emotional and gross motor activities for students using identified curriculum.
- Actively supervise children at all times.
- Lead classroom through Camp Funshine program each summer.
- Communicate with parents regularly regarding their child’s academic performance and behavior.
- Complete Child Service Reports in the fall and spring, per DHS regulations.
- Maintain a clean environment for children
- Stay up to date and follow all relevant bus safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with school personnel for a highly successful program
- Partner with parents to help children succeed in and out of the classroom

- The Trojan Bears School-Age Center: 5300 Henderson Road, Erie (Belle Valley Elementary School)
- The Bears School-Age Center: 1001 West 54th Street, Erie (Chestnut Hill Elementary School)
- The Bees School-Age Center: 4391 Lancaster Road, Erie (Grandview Elementary School)
- The Tigers School-Age Center: 2624 West 6th Street, Erie (Tracy Elementary School)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience working directly with children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must possess or obtain required state and federal clearances
- May require travel to other locations within Erie County
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time throughout the day with intermittent periods of sitting, walking, and occasional bending
- Frequent to occasional lifting of children and/or objects up to 50 pounds
- Dexterity requirements range from coordinated movements of fingers and hands to simple movements of feet, legs, and torso as necessary to carry out job duties
