Extended School Year (ESY)
ESY is a program for students who receive special education services and need to continue to work on IEP goals outside of the school year.
- Location: Propel Braddock Hills Elementary School
- Dates/Times: June 24-July 12, 8:30 am-2:30 pm
- Open Positions:
- Teacher, $24/hr- must be certified
- Design a 45 minute block that includes a balance of UIC based on MAP data for individual students within each group. Other duties include, arrival post, lunch duty, bus duty and daily and/or weekly meetings with group leaders to discuss students and data.
- Group Leader, $20/hr
- Teacher, $24/hr- must be certified
- Door to door responsibility to assigned group of students
- Movement Leader, $20/hr
- Design a 45 minute organized and controlled stretch and play daily
- One-on-One, $17/hr
- Follow student(s) throughout their day to support them academically and socially and implement specific behavior plans throughout the day
- Nurse
- Tend to students throughout the day on an as-needed basis
- Food Service
- Distribute meals
Summer Literacy Program
Title I seeks passionate individuals committed to providing Propel scholars with reading instruction explicitly using Evidence Based Literacy Instruction to serve as Summer Literacy Interventionists.
- Locations: Propel Braddock Hills Elementary School, Propel Homestead, Propel Northside
- Dates/Times: 3-4 days per week, varies per site, 8am-2pm
- Open Position: Summer Literacy Interventionist, $24/hr
- Responsibilities include: Use Evidence Based Literacy Instruction, provide literacy interventions to scholars in 1 hour increments throughout the day (rising 1st grade through rising 12th grade)
- Qualifications: B.S. in Education or a related field or a combination of other training and experience that qualify the candidate for the position, Experience as a Literacy Instructional Specialist in a school.
Summer Credit Recovery
Summer Credit Recovery is for students who have already taken a course during the regular school year and need to improve their performance. Credit recovery is an excellent way for students to remain on target for graduation.
- Locations: Propel Andrew Street High School, Propel Braddock Hills High School, Propel Montour High School (also available virtually)
- Dates/Times: June 24-July 19 and July 22-August 16, Tuesday-Thursday 9am-1pm
- Open Position: Site Supervisor, $30/hr
- Responsibilities include: support students in engaging and completing their Credit Recovery Course(s) utilizing the Waterfront Learning platform, keep attendance, address concerns within 24 hours, identifies and resolves minor system failures, etc.
- Qualifications: Teacher or Counselor certification
