This is a 40 hour per week position. EOE
Responsibilities:
Responsible for overview and supervision of all Illinois Eye Center schedules behind the scenes. Schedulers
are responsible for inputting schedules into the electronic medical record (EMR) and ensuring the schedules
are available for at least the next 12 months at all times as well as monitors all eye care providers’ schedules to
ensure appointments are scheduled correctly and the schedules are leveled. Works closely with the Call Center
and other patient support departments by providing next level support. Approves all appointment overrides
and inserts. Follows all Illinois Eye Center values. Other responsibilities include rescheduling and canceling
appointments, scheduling appointments from referrals from outside providers to Illinois Eye Center, and
verifying patient’s demographical information. Scheduler should be able to ensure that sufficient time is
allocated to each appointment.
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Scheduling experience preferred. Experience with healthcare and patient care helpful.
- Demonstrable skills in motivating and training staff.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Work well independently and as a team player.
- Possess excellent computer skills related to the Scheduling component of the system.
- Excellent customer service and clear communication (oral and written) skills are required
- Maintain a professional, respectful and friendly image
- Well-organized with attention to detail while working in a fast paced environment
- Confident in decision making
