Reports Directly To: Manager, NG Scheduling | FLSA Status: Exempt
SUMMARY
The Natural Gas Scheduler for MEMS, Inc. will be responsible for pipeline nominations on assigned assets, and all associated work, in support of Mitsui's Natural Gas portfolio in the US. This role will be an integral part of the Natural Gas team and will be expected to support the continued growth of the business. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability to work in a dynamic environment, focusing on attention to detail, and meeting strict deadlines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for timely and accurate nominations on assigned pipelines.
- This role will be required to support the management of a complex portfolio that manages E&P, LNG Feed Gas, and 3rd Party trading activities.
- Work closely with all MEMS traders and schedulers to balance and nominate gas transactions on assigned pipelines and storage facilities.
- Communicate all nomination requirements to counterparties and midstream operators correctly and in a timely manner.
- Communicate with all trading & scheduling personnel regarding market and pipeline information.
- Support E&P and LNG divisions with accurate reporting of scheduled & confirmed volumes.
- Accurate and timely data entry into Mitsui's gas management system (Allegro Horizon).
- Assist middle office and back office to clear discrepancies for P&L reporting and invoicing
- Will be required to support other Mitsui gas schedulers and be part of a rotation program for after-hours and weekend nomination support.
- Any other duties as directed by the Manager.
- Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Proficiency or the ability to effectively demonstrate proficiency with appropriate training with third-party software licensed to the Company such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work after-hours and on weekends as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to be a proactive problem solver.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Undergraduate degree (accounting/finance preferred) or equivalent related work experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Fluent verbal and written skills in English
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. Physical demands include:
- Prolonged periods of sitting and may need to routinely move around to communicate with different groups
