General Description:
The Scaffold technician position is responsible for erecting and dismantling Tier I & II (simple) scaffolds. Scaffolder must apply sound judgement and understanding when carrying out detailed or uninvolved written and/or oral instructions.

This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. CCI Industrial Services leads the industry in Safety, Innovation, and Excellence. CCI's mission is to provide quality-driven, cost-effective construction, maintenance, industrial cleaning, power generation, and transportation services to support resource development companies.

  • Ensure a safe work environment.
  • Building and breaking down scaffolds
  • Participate in CCI's STEPBACK safety program and stay compliant with online training modules in Virtual Training Assistant (VTA/EHS). Review and comply with the various Client's safety programs.
  • Your responsibility includes representing the Company in a professional manner at all times.
  • Assist in loading and unloading of material and equipment for mobilization. Knowledge of load securement practices.
  • Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to analyze and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety manuals and warning signs, drawings, specifications, rigging diagrams and lifting capacity charts for equipment and load carrying parts, perform basic math.
  • Skilled oral communication and have the ability to provide and receive oral safety warnings, instructions and task assignments.
  • Ability to use a band saw, mag drill, grinder, handheld portable drill, read a tape measure, and other applicable hand tools/power tools.

  • This is a full-time position you must be willing to work 50 hours a week and able to work up to 84 hrs. per week
  • The position is on-call 24 hours/day while on shift. Flexibility regarding hours of work is required as needed to meet demands of the job. Position may be reassigned at any time to meet operational objectives.
  • Position may be exposed to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works at the construction site. The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
  • Position may be working with potentially hazardous materials and wastes.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear and steel toe boots are required in all working situations.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.
  • VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.
  • LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.
  • RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurement will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.

Contingencies:
Offer contingent upon ability to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Requirements:Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 3 years of Scaffold experience or certification in Scaffold Building from an accredited training program
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Scaffold Building from an accredited Trade School
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry
  • Scaffold Training Institute (STI) certification
  • TWIC card to be obtained upon hire if contract required.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification
