As an SAP Technical Architectyou will design and implement computer-based enterprise business solutions for Valero's accounting/financial functions as part of the Information Services (IS) Enterprise Architecture and Technical Services team. The primary focus will be project work, but will also influence strategy and be involved in supporting existing financial management applications. Work closely with team members, end users, and other IS departments to meet the company's goals with little supervision. The candidate will have to play a crucial role in the upcoming brownfield implementation of SAP S/4.

This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent required.
- 10 years of development experience using various SAP development technologies including but not limited to the following: ABAP, Integration and UI tools
- 10 years of working with relational databases, SQL scripting and data modeling
- Experience in multiple implementations and upgrades of SAP ERP solutions with full life-cycle participation
- Experience developing, communicating, and presenting architectural patterns and designs to all levels of the organization
- Experience working with several of the following SAP ECC or S/4 functional modules:
- FI, CO, AM, PRA, BPC, Central Finance, Cash Management, Credit Management, Accounting and Financial Close, Treasury or Risk Management
Preferred Requirements:
- S/4HANA Conversion or New Implementation experience
- Oil and gas industry experience
- Financial process knowledge
- Experience with S/4HANA, Core Data Services (CDS), OData services, ABAP-Managed Database Procedures (AMDP)
- Experience with SAP UI5, Webdynpro, Fiori, CSS, HTML5 and Javascript
- Experience with Integration Platform and tools like SAP Process Integration (PI/PO), webMethods, SAP ALE or SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI)
- Experience with Business process analysis and design
