POSITION SUMMARY
The duties of the Sanitation Technician include but are not limited to assuring consistent cleaning of plant and food equipment. Performance of cleaning procedures that comply with stated corporate mission and strategic plan, corporate policies, and customer requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Dry cleaning, garbage removal and Janitorial activities
- Wet cleaning to include rinsing, soap application, and scrubbing
- Work with soap’s / other cleaning chemicals
- Other duties as required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
This position requires 1-2 years of sanitation experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Working knowledge of sanitation equipment, methods and chemicals.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to interact with management
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- Must have own transportation
- Bilingual Preferred: English and Spanish
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Required to stand, sit, walk for long periods of time in rain gear.
- Frequent use of hands for simple, firm grasping and writing.
- Frequent bending, stopping, reaching, climbing.
- Frequent lifting, carrying 5 pounds to 50 pounds.
- Occasionally using cleaning equipment (foamer, brooms, shovels).
- Exposure to product fumes such as onions, peppers etc.
- Exposure to varying temperatures down to 35 degrees F. or less.
- Exposure to chemicals such as chlorine, Soap etc..
- Works overtime as required
