Plant Happiness Associate

The Greatest thing about horticulture is the aspect of community in how the knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation, from neighbor to friend. We are here to continue this tradition by working closely with the plants we grow to share them and our knowledge with those in our community, while also learning from them as well!

As a Plant Happiness Associate at Silverstone Gardens, you would have a pivotal place in this process ensuring a meaningful and fulfilling place of employment to look forward to from mid-April through July. The right candidate must be able to handle hot and humid conditions, stand for 95% of the time, have a team player attitude, and be willing to work hard, have fun and possess a lot of energy to work at our busy greenhouse during our peak retail season.

This job is perfect for college students, retirees, teachers, and garden/houseplant hobbyists, and anyone who wants to be around plants for the spring and summer. You’ll be able to grow and thrive personally and professionally in a great environment! (While also getting an employee discount so you can bring your favorite plants home with you.) We are hiring for full time and part time employees, 20-35 hours a week from mid-April through July.

Plant and or gardening knowledge is preferred, but we are willing to coach and guide you with any training you need to succeed. Retail cashier and customer service experience is preferred. Previous greenhouse/garden center experience is a plus.

Requirements for this job include

High school diploma, reliable transportation, being available for flexible hours working weekends and busy holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 32 per week
