Position Title:Sand Operator - Entry Level
Location: Tacoma, Washington 98409
Nature and Scope: The Sand Department Operator plays a crucial role in maintaining the equipment within the department, monitoring operations related to the sand lab, and performing testing and calibrations to generate critical reports for supervisors and operations. This position assists in the operation of the sand lab, carrying out testing and tasks as assigned.
Pay Range: $19.97-$25.33
Shift: 6:00AM-2:30PM
Primary Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Daily monitoring of sand mixers, including resin levels and temperatures, and replenishing materials as required.
- Inspection and cleaning of sand mixing equipment on a daily basis.
- Operation and monitoring of thermal, mechanical, and all other sand transporters.
- Unloading of materials delivered into corresponding containers or equipment.
- Monitoring of sand storage hoppers and silos.
- Operation and monitoring of the reclamation system throughout shifts.
- Monitoring of trash and finished product transporters.
- Operation and regular monitoring of sand separators.
- Management of mag collection transporter.
- Starting/stopping of the new sand additions system.
- Ensuring good housekeeping practices and maintaining clean work areas.
- Prompt reporting to the supervisor of any safety or quality issues requiring attention.
- Alerting the supervisor to any maintenance needs.
- Providing recommendations for process improvements.
- Participation in special activities, projects, and programs to support Bradken's safety, quality, and productivity goals.
- Completion of other duties as assigned or requested.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
